Great products come out of genuine need. As a keen outdoor adventurer, Dick Linkogel was looking for a fleece that would adapt to suit his body temperature, but couldn’t find anything that worked in the toughest elements. Even the most up-to-the-minute manmade solutions couldn’t offer him the flexibility he needed. So he went back to nature and explored how animals survive in such harsh conditions. He then applied this, the environment’s most fundamental technology, to his own needs and the Arkose fleece was born.
Made from 100% natural Yorkshire wool and treated with proofing, the Arkose fleece follows the same principle as a sheep’s fleece, channelling water along the fibres and off the fleece, so you stay warm and dry. Inspired by nature, this revolutionary new approach makes perfect sense, and is the natural alternative to synthetic petrochemical-based waterproofs.
Each fleece also has a breathable cotton lining, so perspiration is drawn away from the skin, keeping your body at the optimum active temperature. And if you need a little extra air circulation, there’s a number of handy ‘pit zips’ for added comfort.
